What is the current status of the NH State Vehicle Inspection Program?
As of February 13, 2026, the New Hampshire Department of Safety has suspended the State’s mandatory vehicle inspection program until further notice.
Can Next Gen Auto Care perform State inspections or issue inspection stickers?
No. Licensed inspection stations are not authorized to perform State-mandated inspections or issue State inspection stickers at this time.
Why was the program suspended?
Following recent court rulings and the State’s inability to continue its inspection vendor contract, the Department of Safety has suspended the program while legal and administrative matters are addressed.
Do I need to do anything right now?
At this time, State-mandated inspections are paused. We recommend staying informed as guidance may change.
What if my inspection sticker is expired?
The State inspection program is currently suspended. We are awaiting further direction from the Department of Safety regarding enforcement or future requirements.
Can I still have my vehicle checked for safety?
